AI 竞赛让谷歌数据中心用水量飙升，同比增长 20%
据 IT 之家 7 月 25 日消息，谷歌近日发布了 2023 年环境报告，其中提及用水量正在飙升。据悉，谷歌在 2022 年消耗了 56 亿加仑的水，相当于 37 个高尔夫球场；其中 52 亿加仑的水用于该公司的数据中心，同比增加了 20%。该报告详细展示了运行大型数据中心的环境成本，数据中心通常需要大量的水来保持凉爽，而伴随着 AI 竞赛的加剧，在可以预见的未来，谷歌的用水量将进一步飙升。
加州大学河滨分校电气与计算机工程副教授 Shaolei Ren 表示，用水量增长 20% 与谷歌计算能力的增长大致一致，谷歌的计算能力在很大程度上是由人工智能推动的。
