Telstra, Boost to hike prepaid mobile rates in July; Optus stays mum Featured

Telstra and Boost have announced hikes in the rates that customers will be charged for prepaid mobile subscriptions, with both saying they will increase rates from 4 July.
Optus was asked about any possible change. iTWire understands that the company has not decided as yet whether to announce a hike or not.
Boost resells Telstra's service, hence its hike does not come as a surprise.
The increases in prepaid mobile rates comes in the wake of a series of interest rate rises and also big hikes in gas and electricity bills.
A full list of the changes can be seen on this site; some notable changes are for the 12-month 150GB plan which will now offer 165Gb but cost $320 instead of $300. The six-month plan that offered 60GB for $150, will now offer 70GB for $160.

The Telstra spokesperson added: "To help keep vulnerable customers connected, we partner with Infoxchange to deliver the Telstra Top-up program, which provides a complimentary mobile credit recharge to those who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness, family violence or impacted by natural disaster.
