Hey Product Hunters! 👋

I am thrilled to introduce https://usefulloremipsum.com/ for designers, developers, and everyone else.

As a UX writer, I know how frustrating it can be when we don't have enough of our kind to help designers and developers create better UX content. That's why I decided to take matters into my own hands and create an app that goes beyond the traditional lorem ipsum generator and aligns with UX best practices.

Lorem ipsum has crept into most of the internal reviews which drags down the quality of internal meetings and reviews. Also, some blatant mediocre content gets shipped which brings down the quality of the user experience.

The app goes beyond the traditional lorem ipsum generator and instead provides meaningful content that aligns with UX best practices.

I've only been learning to code for a couple of weeks, so if you have any feedback, I'm all ears. I'm also working on mood-based content that can create content based on - fun, sarcastic, formal, or casual.

And if you like the app, don't be shy to share it with your fellow designers and developers.

Can you share any insights or challenges you faced while learning to code and building this app in just a couple of weeks?

Congrats on the launch!

@hnnhgutierrez First, I tried it using ChatGPT to code the app. But realized that ain't gonna happen in a couple of hours. Unless people have a basic understanding of the code it really isn't possible to make any 'meaningful' app.

So, I started watching a lot of YouTube videos. Plus, I have a lot of developer friends so I bugged them for doubts and explanations. Even now, I only understand the aspects of coding I've used in the app.

I also referred to a lot of opensource apps' codebases to figure out how to do certain stuff. Sometimes, I copy code from there and ask ChatGPT for an explanation. That's how I've learned so far.
