How do I change /system/build.prop ? Since the danish app for 2fa for goverment sites claims that my phone is rooted after installing EvolutionX, yet I didn't root it. The app is this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.mitid.app.android&hl=da&gl=US
I found out that the app is quite sensitive and I think it might be the build.prop containing " ro.system.build.type=userdebug", instead of just "user". So I would like to try to edit that and see if it worked.. Yet I can't do that without root easilly.
I tried to boot into recovery, mount system, run "adb root" , pull the file, but I can't get it back up, as the mount is read only, and I have failed to change it to RW. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
I'm using a OnePlus8 pro.

help pls.....everything was fine for the first two steps bur when trying to adb sideload copy partitions i get an error at 47% saying recovery : signature verification failed and error:21
i get the option to install anyway but i dont think thats a good idea.
Also it cant even read the rom after that. I ddi rename the rom to kebab.zip but i dont think the fact that i renamed it matters
Yeah, you're supposed to press install anyways, lol.
They have provided us with a custom recovery but that doesnt work for me either

Yeah, totally send an old image from a old recovery and an older android version. That SPL issue was due to the incomplete merge of aug patch on 12.1 at the time. We've since removed the inability for recovery to allow SPL downgrades, but let me guess, you wouldn't know that because you're literally quoting a message from an OLD THREAD. You can't remount /system as R/W as we use EROFS file system. You can probably use OverlayFS which you can google about.How do I change /system/build.prop ? Root it with Magisk and use the module called "MagiskHide Props Config"

LoL are you serious? Omg .hahaha. I'm gonna try it then. Although I did try it once already after that I tried flashing the ROM which I renamed for convenience into kebab.rom . I hope it doesn't change anything...the name doesn't change anything right?
edit: yeap....iadb sideload cant read the rom..... tried with both the original name and a smaller one
edit2.0 can i somehow load the rom through my device without adb using your recovery ? i have an one plus 8t

You have to use a 64 bit version of adb. The rom doesn't fit into the 32 bit address of an older adb.exe. Don't have any links for you, sorry. Also use cmd prompt not PowerShell if on windows.

ADB sideload will stop at 47% on your pc/laptop no matter what file you are trying to load, it's just the way it works. It will happen when you load the ROM file too.
You can hit "Yes" to install copy_partitions without any issues.

Did you read at all? It's been establised that the reason it can't read the rom is an adb issue.
man i am lost. i have the 8T and rocking this rom since 6.*
since like 1 or 2 weeks my phone lost 5G reception and i dont know whats wrong. a simcard change didnt fix it, fastbootflashing older firmware didnt fix it.
not sure if a romupdate could have caused it or its a carrier problem. what else could i try before reflashing evoX?

I had the same problem with my 8pro. I contacted my provider. There was an error logging into the 5G Network. They corrected it, i had to reboot and voila 5G was working again. So I would try to contact the Service Channel from your Provider via Twitter, etc. for example.
