Blast City Control Panels
Tools
Learn how to properly discharge a CRT without dying.
the two cabs mostly look the same. it's hard to tell them apart, so i'll just refer to them right now as tate
and yoko
to differentiate.
install some kind of insert coin mechanism
- crackly audio from both machines. check speakers.
clean
vacuum
rear access hatch is bent. i was able to bend it back a bit by hand.
- psu is missing a screw
- marquee back plate is missing a screw
monitor
monitor geometry is off. adjust.
update 2017/04/17: so i've adjusted as much as i could with the monitor chassis pots and i still can't get a rectangular image and the colors are still separating on top ("right" it's vertical) corners. the lines also look like their coming apart a bit near the top edge (the "right side" since it's vertical). with what little research i've done so far, it might require me to look for any faulty capacitors on the monitor chassis and replace any that need to be. i really hope it's repairable.
update 2017/04/29: alignment of the colors is referred to as "convergence". will most likely need to install some convergence strips to fix the corners. i noticed some slight vertical folding when adjusting vertical height to its extremes. hopefully caps can fix this as well as rectangular image?
control panel
replace with 1P blast logo'd panel
new controls: Seimitsu LS-56-01 (MS plate + Octogate) and Sanwa OBSF-30/24 Snap-in buttons
clean
vacuum
service button doesn't seem to be working with die hard arcade. i tried the game in the ddp cabinet and the service switch worked. that makes me think it might be a problem with the cabinet's switch rather than the st-v motherboard (since that contact on the JAMMA fingerboard is burnt).
- PCB door's lockout switch looks like it's been cut and rigged to stay connected. gross
- check PSU's power output, make sure it's not too high (dodonpachi keeps resetting in the cabinet (over 5.1v) )
- psu missing a screw
- marquee back plate missing a screw
- missing plastic reflective sheet (that goes underneath the marquee light)
monitor
- geometry is off
- there's a bit of horizontal folding on the right side
- convergence is off
control panel
replace with 2P blast logo'd panel
new controls: Seimitsu LS-56-01 (MS plate + Octogate) and Sanwa OBSF-30/24 Snap-in buttons
- some of the ground wires are cut wtf
CP bottom half doesn't square up well enough with the body to screw in bolts. need to dremel out a tiny bit of plastic in a few spots for proper screw alignment
