Huawei Mate 50 Pro disassembly reveals its interior

Huawei Mate 50

The Huawei Mate 50 series does not support 5G networks and only uses a 4G processor. However, the disassembly reveals something interesting about this device. It reserves a space for 5G radio frequency chip on the motherboard. This suggests that the design of this smartphone obviously takes 5G into consideration. The disassembly by “Bogota Review” reveals that the components of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro are roughly the same as the Mate 40 Pro. On the top, there is the camera and SoC module. On the bottom, this device has a battery and wireless charging coil. Furthermore, on the bottom, there is also the input and output module.

The motherboard of the Huawei Mate 50 Pro uses a double-layer design. All the components and chips are covered by metal covers. The processor, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 is also under these metal covers.

Huawei Mate 50 Pro has a 5G RF chip space

With further dismantling, the Huawei Mate 50 Pro has a place reserved for the 5G RF chip on the PCB. Interestingly, the filter capacitor resistors close to the RF chip were not removed. It shows that this mobile phone has been designed with 5G in mind. Also, the “TD Bridge Edition” in the future may use this opening.

As we all know, Huawei is currently unable to obtain the 5G RF module. This module is very important for the 5G function of the smartphone. Even if the chipset supports 5G network, the phone cannot support 5G due to the lack of this component.

Huawei Mate 50/50 Pro comes with a 4G version of Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. This chip is specially designed for Huawei mobile phones. Although the phone does not support 5G, it does not affect its hot sales. On the first sale day, the device sold out in seconds on major e-commerce platforms. Also, there were very long queues on offline platforms. It is worth mentioning that Huawei Mate 50 series mobile phones can also support 5G networks through the 5G communication shell.
