对于微软来说，现在他们还在希望给Windows 11的升级选项上加入更多的限制条件，比如要求使用SSD选项。
根据存储行业分析公司Trendfocus发布的最新一份报告，微软正推动Windows PC厂商在 Windows 11 设备上使用固态硬盘（SSD）。对Windows 11设备的要求目前仅限于存储空间，并不要求是机械硬盘或者固态硬盘。
根据Windows 11最低系统要求，Windows 11设备需要至少有64GB的存储空间。
如果想要使用Windows 11系统的DirectStorage功能（承诺PC游戏的加载性能），需要使用NVMe SSD。不过该功能是可选功能，在具有经典硬盘驱动器或非NVMe固态驱动器的设备上不可用。
