2022年下半年刚开始，日本网民就遭遇了一次大规模断网事故，日本主要的运营商KDDI在7月2日凌晨出现故障，导致旗下的用户手机、网络不通，处于“断联”状态。
根据KDDI发布的消息，，截至当地时间4日7时，该公司运营的网络和数据通信基本恢复，但是用户通话仍难以使用。
KDDI称，故障发生于2日凌晨1时35分。出故障后，恢复作业进行了约40小时，仍未完全恢复正常。
根据日本《电气通信事业法》规定，若超过3万人在1小时以上无法拨打紧急电话联系上消防或警方，这种情况将被视为“重大事故”。
