上周四激活的的以太坊伦敦升级开启向以太坊 2.0过渡的新时代，这是以太坊区块链过渡到权益证明（PoS）共识机制的倒数第二步，本次升级中最受关注的是以太坊改进提案（EIP）1559。根据最新数据显示，已有98.2%的以太坊客户端完成升级（其中以太坊第二大客户端Openethereum已100%完成升级），而这也是为什么EIP-1559能够快速成为社区主流的原因。 本文撰写时，总计有32643.1 ETH被销毁，但按照目前销毁速度（每分钟销毁2.3枚ETH）并没有真正使ETH成为通货紧缩资产，只是降低了当前通货膨胀率。事实上，即使以太坊2.0过渡完成，ETH仍将保持通胀。
根据以太坊基金会研究员Justin Drake构建的一个模型显示，即便有更多验证者加入以太坊网络，同时ETH质押年回报率（APR）/收益率维持在6%，每年ETH供应量也“只会”减少160万枚，这意味着ETH年供应率被降低至1.4%，即ETH代币仍是一种通胀资产，只是通缩压力更大而已。（Cointelegraph）
