Ethereum Insider Intensifies ETH Foundation Pursuit

Steven Nerayoff, an early advisor to Ethereum, has given a detailed update on the progress of his impending lawsuit against Ethereum co-founders Vitalik Buterin, Joseph Lubin, and the Ethereum Foundation.

Nerayoff, whose association with Ethereum dates back to its inception, recently responded to a community member’s query about the lawsuit’s status.

The case has taken an intriguing turn with Nerayoff collaborating with TruthLabs, a recognized on-chain detective. Their aim? To uncover on-chain evidence allegedly pointing fingers at Buterin, Lubin, and the Ethereum Foundation in fraudulent activities. 

Nerayoff disclosed, “We are filing a wrongful prosecution lawsuit. But in it, I’ll be filing other aspects. We will also make incriminating evidence from me, TruthLabs, and others public.”

TruthLabs has discovered evidence suggesting the ETH Foundation’s involvement in the Gatecoin hack in 2016, resulting in a loss of 185,000 ETH and 250 BTC. Nerayoff is in communication with other Ethereum insiders who claim to possess damning evidence of the alleged fraudulent activities.

In a detailed statement on X, Nerayoff accused the ETH co-founders of opting for silence, interpreting it as an admission of guilt. 

He asserted, “So why are they silent now that specific allegations with receipts or on-chain data have been made by me & TruthLabs? Legal advice for criminals guilty of massive crimes is to remain silent. Vitalik, Lubin & others will be casualties. Those above will sacrifice them.”

Simultaneously, another legal battle involving the Ethereum Foundation is gaining attention. Joel Dietz, deeply involved in the early days of ETH, has filed a lawsuit alleging a breach of partnership and deceit over the development and handling of MetaMask, a widely used cryptocurrency wallet.

Dietz claims his partner Aaron Davis secretly continued to profit from the project without notifying other partners.

Nerayoff expressed solidarity with Dietz in a statement on X: “I’m very close friends with Joel Dietz & we were both at Ethereum in 2014. I believe Joel’s claim as co-founder of MetaMask. Joel is brilliant & honest. Lubin is stupid & crooked. Lubin is trying to write him out of its history just like he did with me & Ethereum. #TheLubinPlaybook.”
