Diego De Giorgi Succeeds Andy Halford as Standard Chartered CFO

Diego De Giorgi is set to assume the position of Group Chief Financial Officer at Standard Chartered PLC starting January 3, 2024, succeeding Andy Halford.

Halford will step down as GCFO and from the Board on January 2, 2024, transitioning to the role of Senior Adviser until his retirement on August 31, 2024.

De Giorgi’s most recent role was as Co-Chief Executive of Pegasus Europe, the continent’s largest Special Purpose Acquisition Company. Previously, he served as an independent non-executive director at UniCredit S.p.A. between 2020 and 2021.

His extensive financial career spans from 1994, when he joined Goldman Sachs. At Bank of America Merrill Lynch, from 2013 to 2019, De Giorgi held leadership positions, including Co-Head and later Head of Global Investment Banking. He also served as Co-Head of Corporate and Investment Banking for the EMEA region from 2013 to 2015.

During his tenure at Goldman Sachs, he worked across various roles in Equity Capital Markets and Financial Institutions Groups in London, eventually becoming the Chief Operating Officer for the Investment Banking division before departing in 2012.
