Hey everyone!
I’m Daniel, I did most of the technical work on cheyn.
Here some technical context, for everyone who's curious:
We built cheyn on NextJS with Styled Components and MongoDB as our database and NextAuth to handle accounts. Daniela Gomes created the design.
We owe infinite gratitude to Thao Nguyen for building the models in Blender and CLO and then tweaking them more times than can be counted to run properly in our setup.
Rendering and manipulation happens in Three.js, or more precisely, React Three Fiber (a React wrapper around three). Anderson Mancini was instrumental in helping us to properly project prints onto the models.
We use additional tools from the drei package and framer motion to further manipulate the
Don McCurdy’s gltf-transform (and his generous advise during setup) enables us to manipulate and compress models on the frontend.
Let me know if you have any other questions, I'm happy to chat.
Thanks for using cheyn and we're looking forward to your feedback!
