Chandrayaan-3’s Lander Module Preps for Second Deboosting, Expected Lunar Landing on August 23
- The Lander Module of Chandrayaan-3, housing Vikram lander and Pragyan rover, will undergo a second deboosting operation on August 20 that will bring it closer to the Moon’s surface.
- The Lander Module’s health is normal and it successfully performed its first deboosting operation, reducing its orbit to 113 km x 157 km.
- The soft landing of the Lander on the Lunar south pole is scheduled on August 23, marking the culmination of slowing and reorienting processes.
