Hello Product Hunters! 🌟

I'm Nikita. As a data visualization engineer and designer, I've always been passionate about transforming complex data into beautiful, intuitive visuals. Today, I'm thrilled to introduce you to my new creation - Market Map.

Market Map takes the intricate, multi-dimensional financial metrics of the NYSE and NASDAQ-traded companies and transforms them into a beautiful constellation of points.

🔮 Every point tells a story: Each point on our map symbolizes a unique company, positioned based on market metrics such as Market Capitalization, P/E ratio, EBITDA, and so much more. When you see Apple, Microsoft, Google, or Amazon forming a cluster, you're looking at the titans of the US market. 🎨 Visualize Complexity: Get a better understanding of market scale, structure, and patterns of financial vitality through a visual exploration of various market metrics. 🔍 Insights at a glance: Want to visually learn about the structure of S&P 500 or other indices or even sectors? You can do it with Market Map! 🔭 Engage with every detail: Curious about a company's financial specifics? Just hover or click on its point to see its metrics and various charts. 🌌 Stay updated with the dynamic cosmos: Our map isn't static. Reflecting the ever-evolving financial world, watch it adapt to real-time data from earnings shifts, stock price fluctuations, and other events.

With Market Map we want to make financial data not just accessible, but visually engaging and effortlessly understandable. Whether you're a seasoned financial pro, a data enthusiast, or just curious, I'd love to hear your feedback. Let us know if you found it interesting and useful or not. And tell us what other features you would like to see.

Thanks for diving into the financial universe with us, and happy exploring! ✨

Nikita

As someone who once built something similar at my company Visually I can appreciate the hard work that went into MarketMap. In our viz we also included funding rounds (how much was raised and who were the investors?). Ours had the ability to click on an investor so that you could see at a glance which companies they invested in. We used the Crunchbase API to get this data but I'm not sure if it still exists. Congrats Nikita on the launch.
@lsherman Thanks 🙏 I would love to see your tool too. Is it public?
Such a well thought out tool. Maybe the only thing I'd suggest is, it's not very intuitive how the graph is formed in this particular shape and what it means for some companies to be so distant from the rest.
Thanks @vrv18! Yeah, I see that many people got confused with that. I'll see how we can explain it better.
Market Map sounds like a great tool! What sparked this idea, and what kind of new insights or perspectives can users expect from Market Map's visualizations?

Thanks @ricardo_luz!

It was mainly my curiosity about the overall market. I think the majority of people don't have any idea about the number of companies traded on the US market and how they relate to each other. Market Map aims to solve this problem by giving you a unique bird's eye view of the market combined with the ability to drill down and learn about sectors, indices or individual companies.
