The difference between Apple and the rest of industry is that Apple believes in its products and doubles down. It kept pushing even when it was bankrupt and did not abandon the project just because it was making big losses. It kept pushing its dream.

I mean, they've dropped a bunch of products when they weren't working. I don't think their silicon project was even in doubt.

Well they never really was Bankrupt not really but then Steve Jobs came back and Took Apple to new places and success they had not had for awhile but they was never Bankrupt because Apple Die hards of the 90s never gave up on them and Apple despite have 35 different products it seems at the time was still doing well in parts of the industry . but once Steve jobs came back the rest is history

well, their users , more/less act like a cult, so they can easily do that, they can also easily dump 32 bit apps supports, they soldered RAM and SSD, charge insane price for "upgrade", etc etc... and their users all ok with that.

Well, people who spent a lot of money in one of their overpriced servers and were left down won't opine the same, I believe.

I started in Windows or DOS back in 1990 when I built my first PC a 286-12mhz. When Vista came out I bought my first Mac. I have had both since at work and at home (IT for 30 years now).
Currently I only use a PC at home for gaming. At work I am on my Mac more but depending upon what I am doing it can go the other way.
Apple hardware quality is simply better when it comes to fit and finish. MacBooks even before the M series chips are just better than almost any PC laptop. The M cpu’s just make things even better.
However the Mac is just part of the lure/eco system. You if you own a iPhone or iPad, Watch, air pods etc it just gets better. Microsoft simply does not have this kind of eco system. Google is closer than Microsoft.
Instead Microsoft is turning one of their few consumer facing products into a dumpster fire. Windows 11 is the QVC of operating systems with so much junk pre-installed. You do NOT see this shite in Mac OS or even Chrome OS.
Wonder if that specced out, non-upgradeable hunk of metal will be outperformed by a similarly priced PC again.

Yet, everything I've tested it with including newer AI projects the M2 ultra chips lag behind an i9-13500k/nVIDIA combo big time.. we're going to ignore wattage for this test

- fastest GPU ever!
- use the least power ever!
- most advanced OS ever!
The independent testers will tell us that it's none of those and they can prove their point...but the cult members in RDF won't care, and for some reason neither seems the media to care.
