China's Hozon will start selling Nezha EVs in Indonesia from Q4

On Thursday, Hozon Auto, a leading Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, announced its plans to commence the sale of its Neta-branded electric vehicles in Indonesia, beginning in the fourth quarter of this year. This move represents a strategic expansion of its operations within the Southeast Asian region.
During the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, which commenced on August 10th, Hozon showcased three of its impressive EV models. The company also initiated the acceptance of pre-orders for its popular Neta V crossover model in Indonesia, pricing it at 379 million rupiah ($24,967).
Hozon has chosen to continue diving deep into the market through localization after entering the Indonesian market, On July 26th, Hozon signed a memorandum of cooperation with Indonesian partner PT Handal Indonesia Motor. Both parties will work together to achieve the localized production of Nezha EVs starting from the second quarter of 2024.
Wang Chengjie, President Director of PT NETA Auto Indonesia, revealed that the upcoming local assembly plant is poised to achieve an annual production capacity of 30,000 units.
NIO has launched three EV models for overseas markets, and its global presence expands to markets including the ASEAN region, South America, the Middle East, North Africa, and Europe. NIO exported nearly 8000 units in the first half of this year. In the inaugural destination of its "going global" strategy, Thailand, NIO's ecological and intelligent factory in the country is already under construction.
According to research conducted by Counterpoint, Hozon's Neta V secured the position of the second best-selling electric vehicle in Southeast Asia during the first quarter, trailing behind BYD's Atto 3.
Hozon is also selling EVs to other Southeast Asian countries including Myanmar and Nepal.
