DIANE KING HALL: Disney earnings are on deck. The media giant is set to report third quarter results after the close. Its streaming numbers to be a key focus amid rising competition and declining subscribers for Disney Plus. Investors will also be on the lookout for commentary on the future of Disney's ESPN and ABC network. Additionally, traders will keep an eye out for a read on the scope of future risks from ongoing Hollywood strikes.
And more on the earnings front, gaming platform Roblox to report results before the bell. Shares of the company have enjoyed gains of over 30% this year. However, analysts expecting Roblox to report a loss of $0.41 per share in the second quarter. Meantime, investors will be watching for additional information on generative AI efforts.
And turning to the fast food industry, the pressure is on for Wendy's after McDonald's reported better-than-expected results last month. The fast food chain to offer a closer read on spending amid a more cautious consumer.
