Engineering Manager, WhatsApp Integrity Anti-Spam
WhatsApp Integrity is a well established WhatsApp team in London. Our team is responsible for Integrity efforts for WhatsApp with the mission of keeping harm off of WhatsApp. Our work includes developing ML models to detect and enforce against spam, unofficial clients, detecting malware and much more. WhatsApp is end-to-end encrypted so we cannot see message content at the time of enforcement. Since traditional content-based detection techniques are not available to us, our team builds systems to detect spam and abuse based on behavioural data. Protecting WhatsApp users from the bad actors is a fast paced, adversarial space with plenty of challenges and opportunity for innovation.
We are looking for an Engineering Manager that has an ML background to take a leading role for anti-spam efforts. Role requires supporting 11 engineers, developing a long term strategy for the team, working with a large XFN team within a dynamic, adversarial actor environment as well as deep domain knowledge.
