除了将限制第三方抓取推特数据作为对用户进行浏览量限制的理由，推特老板马斯克还发文补充称：“我设置推文浏览量限制的原因是因为我们都是‘推特成瘾者’，每天大家都恍惚于网络世界，（所以）我这是在为世界做一件好事，大家应该都离手机远点，需要到外面去多进行社交活动，多去看看你的朋友和家人。”马斯克还调侃：“你又用了一次浏览次数“。根据目前最新的政策，推特的普通用户每天只能浏览1000条推文。
