J&T Express files for IPO in Hong Kong

Courier company J&T Express has filed for an initial public offering in Hong Kong on Friday.
The Jakarta-based company is considering raising between $500 million and $1 billion through the stock sale.
Founded in 2015 by entrepreneurs Jet Lee and Tony Chen, J&T Express is known for its cheap logistics rates and it is a major logistics provider for Chinese cross-border e-commerce platforms such as Temu, Shopee, TikTok, and Shein.
According to its website, it has operations in Southeast Asia, China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Mexico, Brazil, and Egypt with 400,000 service staff.
J&T’s backers include Hillhouse Capital, Boyu Capital, Sequoia Capital China and Temasek.
Earlier this week, Chinese media LatePost reported that Chinese logistics giant SF Express was in talks to acquire a 1% to 2% stake in J&T Express.
