Ok, yet another couple of hours spent taking my dash apart & fiddling with this Mekede unit. I can confirm the mod does actually work... 90% ish....

Great result! I'm glad you're on your way to getting the HDMI input working.
I'm sure sharing an the details will help others in the future.

You can force it to install as a flashable zip. Perhaps someone will download the com.syu.ms and make it in to a flashable zip for you or I could do it later this evening.

Thanks for sharing the files and so quickly.

Would that be needed though? I don't know whether it's an update to the existing one on the system, but now that I've confirmed the mod they show in the video does actually work, unless it fixes the spacializer issue I don't think it's worth messing with any further.

That's why I'm posting in detail & providing what files I can. So far after a week on google & this forum, it seems I'm the only one who's had this issue. All was fine until the factory reset, why it now needs a hardware mod is beyond me.

On one hand, Mekede have been a pain in the ass to deal with. Once response a day, usually without understanding the issue, it seems they use a cheat sheet for standard responses in English for common problems. They didn't get to grips with this until it went through the Dispute stage with Aliexpress. On the other hand, since then they have provided a working fix with clear video instructions, even though your average Joe would have no chance of doing it, and in all honesty, shouldn't need to for something they've paid for that should work out the box.

It's a bank holiday, may have a few drinks to steady the hands, put three pairs of glasses on and have a go meself later

Next post could be full of tears

Not now no. It would only have been worth updating if you weren't going to try the mod or the mod didn't work.

That's not an error I've ever seen before.
I shared exactly what Mekede uploaded to the nutstore.

Perhaps try copying the files again or use another sd card?

Yes sir. That did the trick and happy to report all issues are solved execpt for a minor annoyance, the video displayed from the video app looks like if it was zoomed but there is no settings to change withing the video app

hi all! . Does anyone know where in Europe to buy a head unit MEKEDE/Navifly UIC7862 for Honda Jazz 2003? maybe someone knows the links to the EU Warehouses of aliexpress. I don’t want to buy in China, because I pay a lot for customs clearance. Thank you

Watch the other thread where you asked the same question. That has already the answer.

Hi guys,

I have gone through the whole thread hoping to fine answer to my question but it seems I am o my own.

I bought the Navifly M500S 4G 64G with the ADAS DVR front and rear double recording camera. Unfortunately, it arrived with no manual or instruction. As this will be my second HU and camera installation, I felt it will be as straightforward as my first. I was wrong!

Everything seems to work fine after installation. The front and back camera are recording okay when viewed the HD DVR app is opened. However the reverse camera does not come up on screen when gear is moved to reverse. But when I hook up the red CAM 12V wire with the brown BACK wire, the reverse camera displays even in packed mode and will not allow you to do anything else on the HU. Nothing happens when the red wire on the RCA cable is connected to the red CAM 12V or the brown BACK wire.

With my limited knowledge, I am thinking this may have to do with the wire connection required since the DVR front and rear recording camera are kind on linked together before going into the HU. I may be wrong but having asked for help from the customer support since a month now with no real help forthcoming, other than willingness to reply every message and repeating obvious opinions, I found myself here.

I just need help in knowing how to connect the reverse camera so that it displays on the HU when the gear is shifted to reverse.

Thanks in advance.

Yay! I did a thing!

With a bit of dutch courage, I had a go at the modification & although it was a right bugger to do, I got there in the end. I made a video for others to see, I've set it as unlisted on youtube for now because I noticed an error I appear to have made twice. I said earlier that the spacializer didn't work & I was wrong. I only noticed when I watched the video I made that when I tested the HDMI I used the "surround" option in the mixer. For the other apps I used the "field "option. I must have made the same mistake when I tested on my workbench, because I've been & checked & when using the "field" option it works fine. So, mod works 100% as far as I know.

Here's the vid for those who are interested:

I have seen this in some responses but not sure it helps, Below is the camera I got from Navifly and the wiring seems to be a bit different from just a single rear camera.

Looks like the same kit that I got. You say that both cams are working and that the problem is when you go into reverse, so it's either a problem with the reversing wiring or a setting in the options. From memory, the rear cam has a main lead that connects to the front cam, there's a black that goes to ground and a red that connects to the reversing light. At the front, there's a usb connection, I think there's an rca for the rear view connection & another wire that connects to the reversing light lead. There's also an option in settings to enable the rear view on reverse. I'll have a look tomorrow when I get the chance.

With a bit of dutch courage, .....

Nice you fixed it.

However, being Dutch I always feel slightly insulted when someone mentions "Dutch courage".
So here a little history why Dutch courage is actually "English calm down and reduce fear for".
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dutch_courage (the short, more positive version)
And why the English should be thankful for their gin.

No insult intended, seeing as I'm a whiskey drinker, I'll have to find a more appropriate phrase

I just installed a M700 (7862, 8Gb) and am having issues with both USB and Wi-Fi tethering through a Pixel 7. Both options are unusably slow. I've tested the hotspot with other devices and have no issues, just issues with this headunit. Mekede support is no help so far, anyone have suggestions?
