Support is great. Feedback is even better.

"Thanks for checking out the launch, I'd really love to know what do you think about the idea to split webpages for summarization. I would really appreciate any feedback."

Hi Product Hunt, I'm excited to share with you about Recap, a new Chrome extension that leverages ChatGPT to provide powerful text summarization capabilities for webpages. While there are other similar extensions available, Recap sets itself apart with its unique feature of splitting content into passages, allowing users to conveniently summarize specific sections of an article, rather than just the entire text.

The idea comes one day I founded a very long article I'm interested in, but I didn't have enough time to finish reading the whole story. Then after few days, I went back to this article, and found that I couldn't remember what I have read last time, but I could recall the position where I left. So I thought it would be great if there is a tool can help me to recap the content from start util some specific position (Hence the name "Recap"). Thanks to the power of ChatGPT, I started to build such a tool for myself.

Recap is free to use, and open-source. It will not collect any data from you, please check it out and have fun.

Thanks

I can totally relate to the feeling of knowing where I've been reading but not remembering what it was about. This is a great service! Congrats on the launch :)
Recap sounds like a very useful tool for people who want to quickly and efficiently extract important information from long articles. The ability to summarize specific passages rather than the entire text is a great feature that can save a lot of time and effort. The fact that Recap uses ChatGPT to generate its summaries also adds an extra level of accuracy and reliability. Overall, Recap seems like a very valuable extension for anyone who wants to stay informed without spending hours reading through lengthy articles.
