Support is great. Feedback is even better.

"We got a little (ok, more than a little) carried away in our excitement while developing Waddle, so there are a lot more features to discover on the site. We definitely appreciate any and all feedback - things you like, don’t like, or anything that could be interesting!"

Hey Product Hunters!

Long-time builders, first-time makers here :).

First off, just wanted to say it’s been truly inspiring to see all the amazing stuff being built here, as well as the feedback from the Product Hunt community, so 👏 to everyone for their hard work!

After two years of working on Waddle, we’re excited to announce that the public beta is now available!

Back when we started, we noticed that even though the internet has allowed us to connect with friends and communities online in more ways than ever, investing is still largely done through siloed investing apps. We wanted to build an investment app that embraced the same connectedness we leverage elsewhere in our lives so that anyone can experience investing in a shared way. Our app attempts to break down the siloed approach in a few different ways:

Private Groups

Create a private group to invest with friends. Receive automatic notifications when your friends make trades, as well as daily updates to see who has the big winners/losers of the day. Manage group watchlists, and track real-time portfolio performance among your friends to see who's up and who's down. There's also a discussion board to post the latest news, share research ideas, and maybe some friendly trolling. 😆

Public Communities

In addition to private groups, we also have “Stock Communities” you can join by either following or investing in a given symbol. A number of visualizations allow you to see investing trends from actual holders of the stock. Show off your analysis by sharing your price target prediction for a particular symbol, compare your prediction with the overall community, and see how well the community predicts the actual price!

Movements

If you have a particular read on a stock, or basket of stocks, that you want to share with the community, you can create a “Movement”, which represents a tradable asset that others can buy and add directly to their portfolio. Track how your movement is trending with a bunch of metrics updated in real-time: historical movement performance, the number of people and total dollars invested, as well as who’s making (or losing!) money based on your idea.

Getting Started

Signing up is easy and can be done with just your email. We also offer paper trading functionality that can be enabled with just a click. With a paper account you can try out most of the site features, and you can always open a real brokerage account at any time. Note that at the moment, registering for a brokerage account is only supported for US citizens/residents.

Thanks so much for reading!

Roger and Vova

Love the micro-communities that you guys are building. Also, by making it social you'll increase the accountability and support, which should hopefully improve investment outcomes for everyone.

Love your work!

@harri_thomas1 Thank you! That's certainly our thought process as well! I have a few groups set up with friends, and seeing updates on trade activity alone has been a great way for me to keep up with market opportunities while I've been busy building. We also have some high schoolers on the platform who are interested in investing and set up a paper trading group, so our hope is that the app can be a fun introduction for those starting out as well. As an aside, in the process of testing, I discovered that a number of longtime friends are *really* into investing, and I had no idea because it was never something we had talked about. It's of course now become a fun topic of discussion, and I'm hoping that others can make similar connections!
That sounds awesome! This seems like an incredible way to invest with your friends and get automated updates. Congrats on your launch!
@jofrank We're thrilled to hear it! Thanks so much for your support!
ok fair enough - I have to go deeper into this. Congrats on the launch.
@jorge_casals Please let us know if you have any feedback, and thank you very much!
