Apple will raise the price of the iPhone 15 Pro with good reason

You might not have realized that Apple has kept its policy of selling high-end models at $999 since the release of the iPhone X in 2017. This includes the most recent model of the iPhone 14 Pro (Pro Max starts at $1,099, and the price of the iPhone XS Max has not changed since). But, this year’s iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max will break this informal “tradition,” according to securities expert,  Jeff Pu.  His report notes that the titanium frame, A17 Bionic CPU, increased RAM capacity, solid-state buttons, and periscope optical zoom lens of the iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max had increased cost pressure on Apple.

Since Apple has often increased the price of its flagship phones in markets outside of North America, it does not seem odd that this change will eventually be applied to the U.S. market, its primary market.  The analyst made no mention this time of whether the price of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus will climb concurrently. In the North American market, the 14/14 Plus starts at $799 and $899, respectively.

iPhone 15 Pro series renders

A review of the specs of the iPhone 15 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max was recently made public. According to the specs, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is smaller than the iPhone 14 Pro Max in both height and width. However, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is thicker. It has a “smart island” design and is 5% thicker. According to recent CAD renders, the Pro Max’s camera bump will be less evident than initially expected. Its height will be 0.59mm less than that of the iPhone 14 Pro Max.

The body of the Pro models has a metal frame, according to earlier renders. The glass back panel has a glass edge with a gentle curve to create a more smooth transition with the frame, and the display’s edge is smaller. It mimics both the new M2 MacBook Air and the 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pro in certain ways.
