SAP Community Developer Challenge: EDA with SAP HANA and Python

We have a new code challenge for you as part of the Community Spotlight for the month of March 2023. This time it’s about fundamentals of Exploratory Data Analysis with SAP HANA Cloud and Python. Read on for all the details.

Developer challenges are all about having fun, trying new things, and learning along the way. For this challenge, we invite you to explore and get familiar with the fundamentals of Exploratory Data Analysis — usually called “EDA” — using the Python Machine Learning Client for SAP HANA. You will focus on tabular data stored in your SAP HANA database.

This challenge is aimed at helping you to get started with the Python Client for SAP HANA. The level of this challenge is introductory.

This challenge assumes that you have or are capable of quickly getting some experience with Python and Jupyter notebooks — primary tools of all data scientists these days.

Exploratory data analysis (EDA) is used by data analysts and data scientists to explore and understand data sets, often employing data visualization methods. Results of a recent study found that data scientists spend about 40% of their time gathering, analyzing, and cleaning data.
