隐形眼镜是近视人群常用的物品，但是隐形眼镜可能导致角膜划伤、发炎以及不适感进而引发干眼症的问题一直没有得到解决。
据悉，全球约1.4亿佩戴隐形眼镜的人群中，至少有30%的人经历过干眼症，为了防止干眼症，保持镜片湿润及眼球及隐形眼镜间的泪水非常重要。
如今， 来自美国寺崎生医创新研究所（TIBI）的一个团队开发出一种突破性隐形眼镜，旨在对抗佩戴隐形眼镜造成的干眼症。
TIBI团队所研发的隐形眼镜中包含微通道，通过正常眨眼施加压力，以促进泪液流动 ，不需要借助外部设备。
