Support is great. Feedback is even better.

Hey Product Hunt 👋 Thomas here, the Co-founder of Juky 🎉.

I'm excited to bring Juky to the Product Hunt community.

We (@niels_g and I) started developing Juky in 2021 because we were looking for a good way to play songs at a party. Everyone at the party always wants to play their songs, but tossing phones around wasn't the way for us. So we came up with a solution: Juky.

Juky is an app which allows everyone to be the DJ of your party. No need to have to toss around your phone or other impractical solutions, allow your guests to take the party in their own hands and let them be the DJ! Juky allows all guests to suggest and vote for (Spotify) songs they would like to hear. The song with the most votes will be played, so there will always be a song playing that most people like. This allows you as a host to not have to worry about music or related matters, your guests will handle it.

Now you're probably wondering: How does Juky differ from Spotify group sessions? Well let me tell you that 🤠. You could see Juky as an alternative to Spotify group sessions where we've made some additional features:

❤️ You can vote on tracks other people have added. Songs with more votes will be moved to the top of the queue. This also means guests can’t mess with the queue to put their songs first (which can be very annoying 😉).

🔊 In contrast to Spotify group sessions, the music is only played on the Host’s device, saving battery and annoyances for the guests. This also means guests can’t mess around by pausing / skipping tracks.

👯‍♀️ Where Spotify group sessions has a limit of 5 guests, Juky offers support for up to 500 guests!

💰 With Juky, only the host needs to have a Spotify premium account, whereas with Spotify every member is required to have premium. Fun fact: guests don’t even need a Spotify account at all!

🎶 After you're done partying you can export all played songs to a playlist .

Currently we have an Android app and a Web app. We plan to build an iOS app but we're still looking for ways to work nicely with the Apple restrictions surrounding background playing for the party host. For now iOS guests can use our web app which is designed for mobile usage.

We'd love to hear your feedback, so we can improve Juky 🙏.

Love this concept and the fact that people are free to let their own fallback playlist play with the addition of music people vote for! I can really see this work in situations like on a roadtrip, when chilling with friends, or in the office where we always criticize whoever is connected to the speakers 😜

I think it’s much better than the functionality Spotify offers out of the box. The fact that you can do everything you need with Juky, without the need to switch back and forth to Spotify is perfect.

Solid work, can’t wait for an iOS version guys!
