TECNO released Phantom V Fold, the company’s first foldable smartphone

TECNO, a phone manufacturer with a presence in approximately 70 countries and regions, made its MWC debut, unveiling its first-ever foldable smartphone among other consumer electronics. 

Both the interior and exterior display of the Phantom V Fold are big in size. The cover screen has a broad 6.42-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2550 pixels and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. When used as a tablet, it deploys a 7.85-inch folding screen with a resolution of 2000 x 2296 pixels and a 120Hz LTPO panel. 

The PHANTOM V Fold will be the first left-right foldable smartphone in the world to be equipped with MediaTek's top-of-the-line Dimensity 9000+ chipset. The dual-SIM, dual 5G processor created specifically for the smartphone uses a cutting-edge TSMC 4nm manufacturing process to produce performance for foldable devices that is incredibly smooth and requires little power. 

The phone will also have an ultra-clear 5-lens photography system, which will include two front lenses, two rear lenses, and a 50MP main camera with a highly sensitive proprietary sensor. The phone's folding form makes it feasible for the system to provide an interesting photography experience, from improved rear-camera selfies to more engaging large-screen video calling.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold uses 45W of cable charging to load a 5,000 mAh battery. According to TECNO, the Phantom V Fold can charge 40% in just 15 minutes and reach 100% in 55 minutes.

The Phantom V Fold will be released in the second quarter and will first be on sale in India. Prices for the 12/256GB variant will start at INR 89,999 ($1,099) while the 12/512GB model will start at INR 99,999 ($1,222). Tecno will conduct a special early bird promotion, starting at INR 79,999 ($979), 

TECNO’s booth on the brand’s debut at MWC Barcelona 2023.

Along with updated laptop lineups, the MEGABOOK Series, new smartphone releases (such as the Gen-Z-focused Spark 10 Pro that emphasizes front selfie cameras),  TECNO also show cases smart personal devices like the True 1 and Ultimate 1 TWS earbuds, as well as a security WiFi camera and WiFi router product.
