1月24日，《魔兽世界》等国服停止，不少中国玩家也是没有选择，不过相应的投诉也多了很多。
据中新网，30日，中消协发布“2022年十大消费维权舆情热点”。中消协提到，近年来，一些运营不当的网络游戏“停服删档”引发虚拟财产纠纷，导致消费者投诉的事件屡屡引发舆论关注。
如2022年2月，手游《云裳羽衣》停止运营引发消费者大量不满，中消协介入后，该游戏运营方中止了停服流程。
2022年11月下旬，“网易与暴雪停止合作”事件也引发舆论对拥有庞大玩家群体的《魔兽世界》《炉石传说》等游戏可能因“停服”导致消费者权益受损隐患的关注。
