Bencil - World's first profession based short videos platform | Product Hunt

Hi Hunters!

My name is Bara Adwan and I am the Founder and CEO of Bencil, Bencil is the world's First Profession-Based short videos platform!

We are a team of three founders, Mohammed Ubied (CTO), Bashar Zourob (CMO), and myself.

Below, I will -briefly- tell my story with bencil and how I meet my co-founders, I know it's a lot to read, but what I am about to say will get you to understand bencil and my motivation like nothing else, so I urge you to read all the way through.

When I was 12, I made a lot of movies. And I have always dreamed to be a great filmmaker. After that, I got into entrepreneurship, and I absolutely fell in love with it.

That's why. From day 1 in my life as a filmmaker, I always thought about how the cinema and the movie industry are adapting to the modern/tech world.

And how all movies become shorter and shorter over time. And how the directing becomes more snappy, Nervous, and more afraid to lose the audience's attention span.

And this really made a difference in how I saw the world and the video as a medium in general. And because of that I always knew that the modern person will always need something shorter, more practical, and more effective, and that's why I believe in Bencil.

I believe people don't need to watch a 15-min video to learn something new. Or 15-min video for some tips and tricks, or 15-min video to solve a problem they are having. Or to watch something funny about their passion and share it with their friends. To just feel that they are connected to their world of interests and passion. Without watching a lot of silly content. Or without reading a lot of texts and seeing long videos format.

Platforms like TikTok, YouTube shorts, and Instagram Reels. It Will eventually in some day be outdated, because people may watch silly and funny content to be amused at the moment. But people. Inside of them. They always want content that makes them feel good in the long term, makes them learn something, makes them develop themselves and their career, and makes them better people. And makes them don't waste any time. Not just content that entertains them momentarily, wasting a lot of time.

You know. What motivated me to join Bashar (my co-founder)? Although, I have another startup, and I am working on both of them simultaneously. Is that the problem that Bencil startup solves, I myself have suffered a lot! I am a person who watches short videos every day, like most people for over an hour or more daily. Not only that, but I always just skip most of the funny and the dance and the entertainment kind of content. And when I find a video about cinema or startups or entrepreneurship. Which is my passion, I get really excited!! And I immediately go and save the video, follow the creator, like the video, and watch it a couple of times.

I really do everything possible to make the platform algorithm I am watching in recommend more of the content I want to watch. And it just doesn't work! And it would just keep recommending the silly and trending content over and over. And that's really frustrating!

Just imagine with me for a second. That there's an app like TikTok that I can go to. And then I choose my exact passion/profession/job title as a filmmaker. And then all the content that I will see will be about filmmaking! This would be really a game-changer for me. And for more than 54 people in business, creative, and academic fields we talked to. And please notice that those are the only 54 people we have talked to so far! Almost everyone we talk to agrees to at least our problem statement.

That's why I believe in Bencil. And that's why I will do everything to see it into a successful billion-dollar company.

Because Bencil change lives! Bencil can change my life.
