Microsoft Working On ChatGPT-Powered Bing To Challenge Google
Microsoft Corp is working on launching a new version of its search engine, Bing, using the AI behind OpenAI’s chatbot ChatGPT. The Information reported on Tuesday that two people had direct knowledge of the plans.
According to a report by the San Francisco-based technology news site, Microsoft could launch the feature before March ends.
In a blog post, Microsoft said it plans to integrate image-generation software (OpenAI, DALL-E 2) into Bing. OpenAI and Microsoft did not respond to our request for comment.
Microsoft in 2019 invested $1 billion in funding to OpenAI, a San Francisco-based artificial Intelligence company. They had established a multi-year partnership to develop supercomputing artificial intelligence technologies for Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform.
OpenAI’s ChatGPT chatbot was made available for public testing on November 30. ChatGPT is a chatbot that mimics human conversation. It responds to user prompts and can answer many questions, imitating human speech styles.
