Hey, I'm Akshay Hallur, the founder of CoreOS.

Since discovering Notion on ProductHunt in 2018, I have been using it in my creative and business life.

After using Notion for many years, to maximize the systemic benefits of Notion, I built CoreOS from scratch based on my experience using and building standalone templates in Notion.

Most people are using Notion as if it's a note-taking app or a basic task-management app.

People often miss the fact that Notion is a tool-making app, not a task-management tool. It’s a platform for creating new tools that work together as part of a whole – like an operating system.

Without proper system thinking principles, if you build the foundation of your Notion workspace with standalone templates, you’ll end up in a mess.

You'll end up managing dozens of redundant databases, and not get the emergent benefits that come from an interconnected approach.

At the end of the day, you become a system designer, not a business owner who lets the system work for them. Worst of all, you'll be permanently hindering your ability to scale the system.

Think of this, if your operating system's kernel is bloated and old, it will never be able to support the new and exciting applications that you want it to.

That’s why we decided to create the CoreOS.

CoreOS is designed to provide you with a modern kernel for your Notion workspace. It's a foundation on which you can build your advanced workflows with confidence. It's built strictly keeping principles like scalability, modularity, and efficiency in mind.
