Simple way to find a fields of Fixed Asset master screen layout for in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Hello everyone!

If you are involved in SAP S/4HANA Cloud project and working on business processes in fixed assets, you were probably asking yourself on how and where to find  status details on the fields that are showing in asset master records belonging to different asset classes.

You won’t find the option to check and adjust the control of the fields important for the fixed asset master record once you have verified the configuration settings, either in Manage Your Solution or in Central Business Configuration. What choices do we therefore have?

Let’s first review how the SAP S/4HANA Cloud System determines which fields are filled in when creating fixed assets.

As you probably know, fixed asset master records are always created with defining asset class to which fixed asset belongs to.

In a configuration of asset classes (Configuration step: Define Asset Class, SSCUI 102606) you will see the Asset Master Layout.

Asset Master Layout defines fields status that will be pulled up when we create fixed asset within App Manage Fixed Asset.

Currently following Asset Master Layouts are available:

Each of those asset master layouts consists of list of the fields together with it´s status, such as invisible, optional, mandatory, read only.

What we are missing in this overview is access to fields that are part of the Asset Master Layout, such as description, cost center, etc.

I was able to locate detailed information on the fields and it´s status  on unusual place, namely on the SAP Help for SAP S/4HANA Cloud under area  Data Migration.

In SAP Help portal in area Data Migration > Migration objects for SAP S/4HANA Cloud look up for the migration object Fixed Asset – Master Data.

In the chapter “Available fields per Asset Class” you will find fields that are defined for an asset class. This will help you to populate data migration template for asset data migration. Please check for the part “Field properties” and you will find per layout for Asset Master data information such as:

• Layout field
• Layout field description
• Layout field property (Invisible / Mandatory / Optional / Read Only)
