👾 I wanted to create a simple tool that would allow users draw pixel art in the browser and instantly render and preview it as a SVG pattern that can be used anywhere on the web. An easy way to create your own lo-fi/retro vector patterns.
Just draw some pixels and watch your pattern being drawn and replicated. You can then tweak the scale, rotation and exact placement of the pattern. When you're happy, just click to copy the SVG markup or save the SVG file.
Under the hood this generator uses the SVG pattern element to easily replicate the pixel art pattern across the whole SVG element.
This post by Yuan Chuan was part of what inspired me to create this pattern generator tool.
