日前，美国北卡罗来纳州立大学的工程师开发出了迄今游泳最快的机器人，相关成果已发表在近期的《科学进展》杂志上。
工程师表示， 设计该机器人的灵感来自魔鬼鱼，机器人也被称为“蝴蝶机器人“。
据了解， 蝴蝶机器人采用了双稳态翅膀，将空气注入软体内部的腔室来控制翅膀在两种稳定状态之间的切换。 当这些腔室充气和放气时，机身就会上下弯曲，推动机翼随之来回摆动。
实测中，蝴蝶机器人能够达到每秒3.74个体长的速度，比之前的游泳机器人快4倍以上。
在此之前，还没有任何一款游泳机器人能够在一秒内游超过自己体长的距离。
