Republican incumbent Gov. Mark Gordon faces off against Democrat Theresa Livingston in Wyoming's gubernatorial election. 

Wyoming's gubernatorial candidates

Gordon is approaching the end of his first term in office after being elected in 2018. Prior to his time as governor, Gordon served as the state's treasurer under Republican Gov. Matt Mead. 

Livingston, Gordon's Democratic challenger, is a veteran who served in the Air Force for nearly a decade. She's the only veteran gubernatorial candidate who is a woman, and the sole Air Force veteran among this year's gubernatorial candidates with military experience.

She's running on a platform focused on women's rights, healthcare, and the economy, in that order. 

Wyoming's voting history 

Wyoming backed former President Donald Trump over President Joe Biden in a 43 percentage point margin of victory in 2020, Trump's widest margin of victory in any state. Wyoming has sided with Republicans since 1952, breaking the trend only once in 1964 to vote for Lyndon B. Johnson over Barry Goldwater.
