To accomplish this, we are redefining how software is developed within the automotive field as part of an international Mercedes-Benz software development network. As a 100% subsidiary of the Mercedes-Benz Group AG, we develop and integrate the next generation of Mercedes-Benz in-car infotainment systems that are based on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MBOS). In addition, we are responsible for the Mercedes me companion app, we provide seamless & connected mobility experiences and we contribute to Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) platform development. With offices in Berlin and Sofia, we are aiming to bring a new generation of innovative infotainment systems across the globe.

Your Mission

As a Software Engineer in an agile team, you will develop new features, APIs, and system libraries. You will take responsibility of designing, documenting, implementing, integrating, and testing your code. Together with your team members, you will contribute to the technical roadmap in order to continuously improve the components and provide guidance to engineers from other departments on how to integrate these.
The development will be in C++ 17 and soon 20, focused on embedded operating systems and making use of modern tools, technologies, engineering practices, and methodologies. We welcome engineers with different levels of seniority, from recent graduates starting their careers to seasoned experts with a passion for challenges and delivering quality products.

We work in different areas of the embedded, backend, UI and on multiple topics, for example:

• In Car Application Framework
• Automotive Diagnostics
• Vehicle function
• Audio

Depending on your previous experience and interest you may choose to join one of team.

Your Profile

Education:

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communication Technology or a comparable qualification

Experience:

• Excellent coding skills in C++ 14/17
• Experience with GIT version control, CI/CD
• Basic Knowledge in Python
• Understanding of TDD concepts and knowledge about testing frameworks (such as googletest and pytest)

Nice to have:

• Experience with embedded Linux
• Experience with Yocto and/or Buildroot
• Virtualization solutions such as Docker and QEMU
• FOSS Background
• Experience with in-vehicle infotainment systems
• Knowledge and Experience of an (UI) app life-cycle
• Knowledge in relevant app framework topics, e. g. Qt

Personal skills:

• Well-developed communication and teamwork skills
• Personal initiative, commitment, perseverance and resilience
• Aspiration to engineering excellence

Language skills:

• Proficient in English
• German is a nice to have
