国际空间站已经环绕地球运行了近24年，人类宇航员常驻也有22年历史。
日前，NASA披露称， 10月24日这天，国际空间站进行了一次机动变轨，原因是避让俄罗斯废弃卫星Kosmos 1408的空间碎片，减少击中风险。
NASA提到，空间站使用的Progress 81推进器大约发动了5分5秒在执行机动操作，增大了一倍空间站和碎片之间的距离，预计碎片之后会在空间站轨道附近3英里处经过。
据悉，俄罗斯的Kosmos-1408卫星发射于1982年，退役后仍一直围绕地球运行。2021年11月，作为反卫星武器试验的一部分，俄罗斯摧毁了Kosmos 1408。从那时起，这颗旧卫星的碎片就一直围绕地球运行，并不止一次威胁到国际空间站。
