New Meteor CEO

As you may or may not have seen/heard, our new Meteor CEO is Fred Arantes! After Filipe Névola left in April, Fred volunteered and was given permission to take over as CEO.

Fred brings many years of experience teaching and building software at Requisito Tecnologia, ITSS Tecnologia, Petrobras, Grupo Alura and Equifax. In addition to his deep technical experience, he has led teams at Pathable, TecSinapse, and Meteor. In 2019, he co-founded Clubien, an Irish tech startup created to book professional in-home beauty services, where he served as CEO successfully hiring for key positions, closing sales on about 200 service agreements, and forming strategic partnerships with facilities providers.

Fred has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring on committed personnel to work on the Meteor open source team and to create ties with the developer community via new initiatives such as the Ambassador program and Meteor partnerships.

We hope you will welcome him to this position and assist him in making Meteor the ultimate framework for creating apps fast.
