Figma launched a find-and-replace text feature

New great feature from Figma

Figma launched a find-and-replace text feature

Imagine you are working on a new design, and you add a CTA button to the screen. You duplicate the artboard repeatedly to complete the flow. Suddenly, you realize that the word inside the button has an error. The best solution is to find all these buttons and change them with one click.

Previously, finding text in Figma was difficult, and we had to use a plugin. We also used a plugin to change the text in different artboards and pages with one click.

From now, We have a native solution since Figma launched a find-and-replace feature.

How it is works

Click on the search icon above the left menu to run the search feature. In addition, you can use the shortcuts CMD+F (Mac) o CTRL+F (PC).

Write now the name of the:

  • Frame / Group
  • Component
  • Instance
  • Image
  • Shape
  • Other

and the Feature will find it for you.

You can filter for a specific category by clicking on the settings icon and selecting a category. In addition, you can search on a current page or in the file.

Replace

If you want to replace a text, you should click on the setting icon and select replace.
You can write the text you want to replace in the input near the search icon, and in the search input below, you should write the word you want to replace it. You can replace all the words in the page /file or in specific places.
