The team behind Uppy, a modular open-source JavaScript file uploader for web browsers, has announced a new major release — Uppy 3.0.
The uploader retrieves files from a local disc, Google Drive, Instagram, Unsplash, Dropbox, remote URLs, cameras, and other locations and then uploads them to the final destination, and allows you to crop and tweak images with the image editor plugin. It supports resumable uploads to a tus.io server, AWS S3 (as well as many others with similar APIs, such as DigitalOcean), and multipart uploads.
The Uppy team went full ESM in 3.0, rewriting Companion with streaming support, adding a new Remote Sources plugin, and fixing over 95 bugs.
According to the official release announcement, the uploader is "future-proof, conveniently easy, stable as ever."
