The coming-of-age thriller is set in the 1950s and follows the story of Kya Clark, a young woman who raises herself in the secluded North Carolina marshlands. When beloved local Chase Andrews is murdered, Kya becomes the prime suspect.

Daisy Edgar-Jones, best known for starring in "Normal People" and "Fresh," plays the town's "Marsh Girl" Kya Clark. She is joined by Taylor John Smith ("Sharp Objects"), Harris Dickinson ("The King's Man"), Michael Hyatt ("Snowfall"), David Strathairn ("The Uninvited"), and Ahna O'Reilly ("The Help"). 

"Where the Crawdads Sing" is directed by Olivia Newman ("First Match") and written by Lucy Alibar ("Beasts of the Southern Wild"). Reese Witherspoon also serves as one of the film's executive producers.
