1992年，Imagination公司推出了全新的PowerVR GPU架构，在桌面、移动、游戏等各领域都有深远的影响力，并一直延续至今。
不过，PowerVR早已离开桌面领域，如今主要活跃在汽车、移动领域，市场份额分别超过50％、35％，支持游戏超过100万款。
