Microsoft has released a new Windows 11 preview build for users enrolled in the Dev channel of the Windows Insider program.

Windows 11 build 25169 includes several new features, including a multi-app kiosk mode for IT administrators and a brand-new Windows Spotlight theme.

One of the most important changes concerns how IT admins enroll devices in the Windows diagnostic data processor configuration option. The company originally announced this change in the previous preview build for the Dev channel, and with build 25169 it finally begins the rollout to the first IT admins.

Microsoft explains:

“In a future Insider Preview build in the Dev Channel, devices with diagnostic data turned on and joined to an AAD tenant with billing address in the EU or EFTA, will be enrolled in the Windows diagnostic data processor configuration. During this initial rollout, the following conditions apply to devices in the Dev Channel that are joined to an Azure AD tenant with a billing address outside of the EU or EFTA:

Devices can’t be enabled for the Windows diagnostic data processor configuration at this time. The processor configuration will be disabled in any devices that were previously enabled. Microsoft will act as the controller for Windows diagnostic data in accordance with the Microsoft Privacy Statement and the Data Protection Addendum terms won’t apply.”

As it typically happens when new Windows 11 builds are released for the Dev channel, Microsoft also highlights a series of known issues, including for File Explorer. The tab support needs more refinements, it seems, as Microsoft says the up arrow is currently misaligned, and it’ll be fixed in a future update.

And last but not least, Microsoft says it’s also working on resolving a bug that’s causing parts of File Explorer to use the light mode when the dark mode is configured on the device.
