SpaceX successfully launched 53 Starlink Internet satellites

SpaceX resupply mission

US space exploration technology company, SpaceX launched another 53 Starlink Internet satellites into low-Earth orbit. A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket carrying 53 Starlink internet satellites blasted off from the Cape Canaveral Space Station at 10:20 a.m. ET on Sunday. With the successful launch on Sunday, SpaceX has launched 2,858 Starlink Internet satellites. This includes prototype satellites and test satellites that are no longer in operation.

As early as January 2015, SpaceX CEO Elon Musk announced the “Starlink” satellite Internet service project. It aims to provide high-speed Internet access to users around the world, especially in rural and remote regions. At present, the company’s satellite Internet service covers nearly 40 markets around the world.

Starlink Internet satellites are rapidly increasing

Since the official announcement of the project, SpaceX has been testing Starlink satellite launches. On Sunday, local time, the company said that this was the company’s 52nd Starlink satellite launch mission and the fourth Starlink satellite launch this month. Earlier this month, there were reports that SpaceX plans to launch five Starlink satellites in July. Furthermore, speculations are that SpaceX’s Starlink satellite Internet service project has been seeking to expand its user base. It will expand from personal broadband users in rural areas with poor network coverage to corporate customers in the automotive, marine and aviation sectors.

At the end of May this year, it was revealed that StarChain had more than 400,000 users worldwide, compared with more than 90,000 users at the beginning of August last year. Separately, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) earlier this month approved SpaceX’s application to use its satellite internet on mobile vehicles including cars, trucks, ships and planes.

As Starlink expands to more countries and regions, the company is also launching more satellites. As of March this year, Starlink has its presence in 25 countries worldwide. However, this number is now set to increase to 35 as Starlink gets the nod in more countries.
