MIPS 发布 RISC-V 构架处理器 – 开源派
MIPS宣布根据 RISC-V架构设计的eVocore P8700 和 I8500处理器，MIPS eVocore P8700 能扩展到 64 个集群、512 个核心和 1024 个线程，预计第四季度正式发布，MIPS声称eVocore在性能和可扩展性处于世界领先。
MIPS前身为Wave Computing 在2018年从 Imagination Technologies 收购 MIPS Technologies。2019 年初Wave Computing 发起了 MIPS Open Initiative 倡议， 2019 年 11 月终止了这一倡议。2020 年 4 月，Wave 申请破产保护。2021 年 3 月，Wave 更名为 MIPS，宣布将放弃开发 MIPS 架构，转而研发 RISC-V 构架。MIPS 已经加入了 RISC-V 基金会，而 RISC-V 基金会的 CTO Mark Himelstein 曾是 MIPS Technologies 的前雇员。
