In NS1’s monthly Employee Highlight, I sat down with Katie Tregurtha to discuss the company’s content marketing efforts and Katie’s career progression during her tenure. Our employee highlights series spotlights some of our amazing employees, what they do for the company and what makes them tick.

In the interview, Katie and I spoke about:

  • What content marketing looks like at NS1 and how she drives brand awareness

  • The resources she’s used to ensure success

  • Our annual industry conference that’s coming up in June!

What does your job entail on a typical day?

I run our content marketing program at NS1, which means I pull together different campaigns, blogs, webinars, ebooks, and any other content that raises NS1 brand awareness and communicates the full value of NS1 to any potential customers. Day to day, this means I spend a lot of time working on our website, managing our social channels, email marketing, SEO, and writing. Creating content every day can look a little different (depending on the day). One of the things I enjoy most about my job is that I get to work with a lot of people at NS1 inside and outside of the marketing team, to make sure we’re really highlighting all of the cool things that we’re working on.

Would you say you have a mantra or a personal motto?

I’m a big believer in the growth mindset theory. I really think you can always learn something from any challenge or setback. Those experiences are a great way to gain new skills and to become a more resilient person. This also might just be a nice way to say that I’m really stubborn.

Which part of our company values would you say you identify with most?

Make It Happen! One of the things I find most exciting and is honestly the most fun and motivating is all of the work we do behind the scenes to make a large chunk of the internet just work without (the user) having to think about it. We support a lot of customers that provide really vital services, like news, education, and health care. We also help people connect, which has been especially important the past two years, whether we were helping someone find a new job online or connecting with friends, or live streaming. I think that’s really important and exciting.

Can you name a resource you’ve taken advantage of while developing your career here?

The employee benefits, specifically the health and wellness benefits. I think it’s important to enable your best self at work. One example is the free medical membership that we get. It makes it easier to get to the doctor when you need to without interrupting your whole day. Some of the learning and development benefits that are offered have been really helpful. I’ve been able to go to a couple of conferences and training sessions to learn new skills. There’s also a big culture of letting people take on projects and new challenges at NS1 and that’s been huge for my career development. I’ve learned so much in the time I’ve been here.

Is there a project that you’re really proud of during your time here at NS1?

Our annual Insights Conference[link to replay page] is probably the thing I’m most proud to be a part of. Obviously, it was a big team effort. I’m really looking forward to what we’re going to do this year with Insights-we’ve got some really cool plans in the works. Other than that, I’ve done a lot of work on our website over the past year or so to make sure it reflects all of the great things we’re doing as a company.

We’re hiring in our Cork, Ireland office so check out our careers page: ns1.com/careers
