Starting this May, we’re making it easier than ever for you to learn Puppet with an all-new instructor-led curriculum and the opportunity to take all of our Fundamental Core instructor-led training for free.

By removing the fee to learn Puppet fundamentals, we hope to make it easier for anyone to learn Puppet. We’re also changing how we structure our instructor-led curriculum — moving from three-day courses to a series of one-day courses. We want to make our training fit into your busy schedules.

Our education mission is simple: to make it as easy as possible for you to learn to automate what you want and how you want, securely and with confidence, so that you see value from your Puppet investments from day one.

Introducing Puppet’s all-new instructor-led curriculum

In addition to making our fundamental training free, we’ve put the focus on achieving common business challenges with Puppet so you can take what you’ve learned in the classroom and immediately implement it at work.

Starting on 28 March, you’ll be able to register at training.puppet.com for all three Fundamental Core courses in our new instructor-led curriculum, which we’re offering free of charge to anyone who wants to learn Puppet. These new courses will replace Getting Started with Puppet and include:

Our new series of one-day courses guides you along an adoption path based on our most successful customers and teaches Puppet concepts and features in the context of real-world user stories. While we know everyone’s infrastructure is unique, we share universal best practices to build your skills and put you farther along the path to successfully completing the Puppet Certified Professional exam.

Hands-on practice is more guided and intuitive in the new curriculum. Our Puppet Practice Labs power the new lab environment, enabling you to easily access the labs from your browser. Each lab is uniquely configured with the virtual machines needed to apply the concepts just learned — and to see Puppet in action. After class, you’ll be able to access all of the labs from the courses and their companion job aids to continue learning at your own pace on our Puppet Practice Labs page.

Your path to success

We strongly recommend taking the courses in order, starting with Puppet Enterprise 101: Deploy & Discover. We’ve designed the curriculum so that each course builds on the knowledge gained from the previous one, but we understand that you may want to choose courses based on your specific needs and schedules — you’ll have the flexibility to do just that.

We also strongly encourage you to take the self-assessment that you’ll find on the course registration page prior to registering. These self-assessments will help you determine if you have the skills and knowledge you need to get the most out of each course. Each self-assessment also includes links to educational resources to help you fill any knowledge gaps prior to class.
