Almost everything is cooler when you can see right through it. Sadly, Apple stopped making transparent devices when it discontinued the iconic iMac G3, but for those craving that retro look, Elago offers a transparent Clear band for Apple Watch that looks absolutely terrific.

It’s made from a strong and lightweight thermoplastic and incredibly comfortable to wear all day long. And it’s insanely affordable at under $13. I’ve been wearing one for months now and it has easily become one of my favorite Apple Watch bands. Here’s our full review.

Review: Elago Clear band for Apple Watch

Elago is famous for making some of the coolest accessories for Apple devices. Its retro charging stands for Apple Watch, designed to look like the original Macintosh and Nintendo Game Boy, are particularly popular among vintage tech fans. But that’s not all Elago makes.

We’ve also been impressed by its brilliantly designed and nicely priced Apple Watch bands, like the $19 Sport band we’ve previously reviewed on Cult of Mac. So, I couldn’t wait to try out the stylish Clear band, which reminded me of the transparent tech that was so big in the ’90s.

Clear and incredibly cool

Its transparent design means the Clear band goes well with all Apple Watch models — no matter the color — and any casual outfit. It’s paired with shiny steel buckles and lugs, which both complement its design and add to its impressive durability.

Unlike other transparent bands, Elago’s Clear band uses a strip of chunky thermoplastic that’s designed to withstand anything you might want to throw at it. It’s great for strenuous workouts and battling harsh environments, including wet and dusty conditions.

What’s more, Elago has consciously used materials that, unlike cheaper transparent plastic, don’t won’t go yellow over time. You can wear it in direct sunlight and get it as dirty as you like, and it will easily wipe clean in warm, soapy water to look as good as new.

But despite its robust design, the Clear band doesn’t sacrifice comfort. It is flexible, so it wraps nicely around your wrist, and it has rounded edges that sit softly against your skin without digging in. I’ve been wearing the Clear band all day most days, and it feels great, no matter what I get up to.

Get your own Clear band for under $13

The Clear band is designed to fit most wrist sizes, with plenty of room for adjustment, and it’s available for both 38/40/41mm and 42/44/45mm Apple Watch models.

You can pick up yours from the Cult of Mac Store today for just $12.99.
