This release should go live at some point next year

Microsoft is working on multiple Windows 11 fronts right now, as the company is trying not only to finalize the rollout of the operating system but also to give the finishing touches to another major update known as 22H2.

However, it’s not a surprise the software giant is planning in advance, so the firm is also preparing for making the first steps towards the development of the next-next major Windows 11 update.

Called Windows 11 23H2 Sun Valley 3 and codenamed Copper, this update is obviously scheduled to go live next year. But according to a recent discovery from Xeno on Twitter, Microsoft has also included some references for this update in the DLL files bundled with the latest Windows Server build.

Completing the Windows 11 rollout

Obviously, it’s too early to talk about the new features coming in this update or anything like that, especially as Microsoft keeps reminding us that some of the changes making their way to the Dev channel don’t necessarily have an ETA.

However, Microsoft is now working around the clock on actually bringing Windows 11 to all eligible devices out there.

The rollout should be complete by the summer, and Microsoft confirmed earlier this year that it entered the final stage. In other words, it’s now just a matter of time until Windows 11 reaches the broad availability phase.

“The upgrade offer to Windows 11 is entering its final phase of availability and is designated for broad deployment for eligible devices. Since the launch of Windows 11 in October, we have seen strong demand and preference for Windows 11 with people upgrading their eligible PCs at twice the rate we saw for Windows 10. Based on this trend, we are advancing the pace of the rollout faster than we originally announced and entering the final phase of availability for Windows 11 ahead of our initial plan of mid-2022,” Microsoft said back in January.
